April 10 - Little Dell Reservoir

Sunny day with temps mid-61s by the Reservoir.

The mountains/foothills are under a Avalanche Warning due to massive snow totals last Tues/Wed and now a warm-up.

I know the Water Mgrs have been reducing the water levels of Little Dell Reservoirs in hopes of mitigating floods when the real melt begins. I wanted to check out the Reservoir and the actual snow levels.

Beautiful day. Lots of snow melt on the southern exposures of the foothills as expected.

I roll up on the Reservoir and am shocked how much water they've released. It's quite honestly the lowest I've ever seen even last Fall. Sure hope those Water Mgrs know what they're doing and the reservoir is full come July.

But there's still ice covering the remaining water. I'm not sure how thick it would be but then I'm not planning on walking on it.

There's probably 2 feet of snow on the ground or on the roadways that have not been plowed. So it's still worth a hike without getting muddy.

I think its a Lambs Canyon day after work tomorrow.
